Today everyone was allowed to legally get dirty! You dived into muddy water, crawled under barbed wire, hid in dark tunnels, and even pulled yourself up on a rope…
A good atmosphere, lots of mud, tough competition, exciting obstacles and a unique finisher's medal were the hallmarks of this year's Brutal Run, which was not possible to escape dry this time either: more than 2,000 of you chose this unique experience for the 13th time this year on the second weekend of June.
Although the competition is better overall It looked more like a mix of a military training ground and an obstacle course – rather than a traditional running race – but that didn't stop you from populating a special location, the Nyáregyháza motocross track. 384 Hungarian settlements received pre-registrations for this year's Brutal Run, which has grown into a particularly family-friendly event that also gets kids moving in recent years.
The day's program began at 9:00, when the first runners of the Brutal Run short distance started, followed by the next (running) waves every five minutes. The field was mainly made up of children, beginners, family and company teams. This course debuted a few years ago and is the “little brother” of the 7 km route, its shortened version. However, this did not take anything away from the experience: 2.3 km of muddy and wet fun awaited the nearly 600 athletes who registered for this event.
After that, starting at 10:30, the focus was on the classic distance: in 4 starts, in perfect running time, between 10:30 and 14:00, a total of 1437 of you set off to conquer the more than 30 obstacles named after films that are almost considered classics.
You could rest your fatigue at the exhibitor stands: hamburverda, fornetti and New York hot dog were prepared for the event with a variety of hamburgers and delicious drinks, while at the Ötpróba tent, you were awaited by exciting prize games, a wheel of fortune, and guaranteed rewards for points collected for previous sports achievements.
Thank you for participating in this year's Brutal Run, and thank you to our sponsors and supporters for helping us organize another unforgettable event!
One thing is for sure: we'll see you next year, for a little piggyback ride together!
